If I Get Lost in a Store

Sometimes I go to the store with my grown-up.

The store can be big.
There may be lights, sounds, people, carts, and shelves.

I stay close to my grown-up.

Sometimes I might look at something interesting.
Sometimes my grown-up might be hard to see.

If I cannot see my grown-up, I might feel scared.
That is okay.

I can stop my feet.

I do not run.
I do not leave the store.
I do not go outside.

I stay where I am or go to a safe helper.

A safe helper might be a store worker.
A store worker may wear a name tag, vest, or uniform.

I can say:

“I am lost.”
“I need help.”
“I cannot find my grown-up.”
“My name is ____.”

The safe helper can help me find my grown-up.

I can also look for a cashier at the front of the store.
A cashier works at the checkout.

I can wait with the safe helper.

My grown-up is looking for me.
My grown-up will come.

When my grown-up finds me, I can hold their hand.

I am safe.

I am learning what to do if I get lost.
My grown-up is proud of me.
