Funding and Financial Assistance Resources
At The Therapeutic Studio, we understand that the cost of therapy, educational services, and other supports can sometimes be a challenge for families. We believe that finding the right resources can be an important step toward accessing the support your family needs.
We've gathered the following funding programs and community resources to help families explore potential financial assistance for eligible services and disability-related needs.
Eligibility, funding availability, covered expenses, and application requirements vary by program. We encourage families to contact each organization directly to determine whether a resource may be appropriate for their individual circumstances.
Helping Families Find Support
Medical & Therapy Funding
UHCCF offers medical grants to eligible families to help with certain children's medical expenses not fully covered by commercial health insurance. Review the program's eligibility requirements and covered services carefully, as some therapies and services are excluded.
TennCare and Community-Based Supports
This TennCare program provides qualifying services and supports to eligible individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with an emphasis on community participation, employment, and greater independence.
The Katie Beckett Program supports eligible children under age 18 with significant disabilities or complex medical needs. Depending on the program component and eligibility, benefits may help with certain medical and home- and community-based support needs.
Educational Funding
The IEA Program provides eligible students with disabilities access to funds for approved educational expenses. Families should review current eligibility requirements, participating-school rules, and allowable uses before applying.
Family & Disability Support
The Family Support Program was established by Tennessee in 1992 to help individuals with severe disabilities remain at home and in their communities with their families. Funded by the state, the program provides flexible assistance but is not intended to replace services available through Medicaid waivers, TennCare, Medicare, or private insurance.
A state-funded program designed to help eligible individuals with severe disabilities and their families remain together in their homes and communities. Potential supports may include respite care, equipment, transportation, counseling, and other qualifying needs. Funding and enrollment are subject to availability and program requirements.
