Dr. Pamela Scretchen is a licensed and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst with over 20 years of experience providing behavior support for children and their families.
As a past Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) clinical director and private practitioner, Dr. Scretchen serves children and young adults with unique learning styles, providing ABA supports and recommendations that promote their success in school, home, and community settings. Her expertise in functional behavior assessment and analysis enables her to develop compassionate and dignified treatment plans that honor each client's individual needs. Dr. Scretchen is passionate about guiding caretakers in navigating systems of support, particularly after receiving a new diagnosis. Utilizing the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy approach, she provides direct consultation with clients and caretakers. She is enthusiastic about serving school districts to provide positive behavior support, professional development, and direct coaching for educators in both private and public schools.Her heartfelt mission is to invite educational settings and families to sit down and become thought partners in problem-solving for creative solutions.
As a university faculty member, Dr. Scretchen teaches Applied Behavior Analysis, helping to shape the next generation of behavior analysts. She is particularly dedicated to establishing long-term programs in community spaces, such as churches and afterschool programs that ensure the inclusion of individuals with autism and other developmental and emotional differences. Her most recent publication, "A Divine Assignment: Church Supports for Caretakers and Children Impacted by Disabilities," was published in the October 2024 issue of Discernment: Theology and the Practice of Ministry.
Through her multifaceted work as an educator, clinician, consultant, and advocate, Dr. Scretchen continues to make significant contributions to improving the lives of children with diverse learning needs and their families. Her approach combines evidence-based practices with genuine compassion, creating partnerships that empower both children and the adults that support them.
In her spare time, Dr. Scretchen enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and challenging herself with Lagree fitness classes.
