Hello! I’m Heather!
Heather received her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education at Clemson University and her Master’s degree in Special Education at Kennesaw State University. Immediately after graduating from Clemson, she taught Special Education in middle school for a year in South Carolina before moving to the Atlanta area. While in Georgia, she taught Special Education in elementary and middle grades, working with students with varying disabilities, such as Autism, Social/Emotional Disabilities, Developmental Disabilities, and Specific Learning Disabilities. Heather also spent many years as the Lead Teacher for Special Needs Preschool, where she supported Special Education Teachers in the district, evaluated children ages 3-5 to determine academic, adaptive, social/emotional, fine/gross motor and communication needs, and met with families of children with disabilities to determine goals and environments for their child to best meet these needs.
In 2015, Heather and her family moved to Franklin, Tennessee, where she taught Special Education in elementary and middle school for two years in the Franklin Special School District. Heather served as a Special Education teacher at Arrington Elementary School in Williamson County for the 2024-2025 school year and will be teaching Special Education at Page Middle School beginning in August.
Through her years of being a Special Education Teacher in the public school system, Heather decided it was time to discover how to better help children with special needs navigate the world around them. With this new interest, Heather enrolled in the Applied Behavior Analysis program at Lipscomb University and is currently working towards certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Outside of her professional work, Heather is a wife and proud mother of 3, who enjoys supporting her family’s extracurricular activities and chasing waterfalls with her children during the summer.
With a strong passion for supporting children with special needs and a wealth of experience across grade levels and settings, Heather remains dedicated to making a lasting impact in the lives of children with special needs and their families.
